26 weeks

Since thebump.com starts to group weeks together past 6 months I decided to find another website....PlanningFamily.com. Here is what is going on at 26 weeks.

Your baby continues to grow and develop inside of you. Measuring 14 inches long, she weighs just less than 2 lbs!

Her lungs continue to develop and she is taking small breaths of amniotic fluid inside your womb. These small breaths are getting her in shape for her first breath of fresh air.
Her veins are visible through her transparent skin but soon that will change as her skin begins to turn opaque.

The nerve pathways are becoming more and more developed, making her more responsive to sound. Don't be surprised if you feel her jump inside you if she is startled by a sudden noise.
If you're having a boy, his testicles are descending into his scrotum this week.

Let's see what's been going on.....

Well...I believe I experienced a BH contraction...not my first because I didn't realize what it was the first few times. It feels like a hard muscle contraction but not nearly as uncomfortable as say a charlie horse. But I would say 50%-75% of my bump from the bottom up was rock hard and it only lasted for maybe a minute. Just an odd feeling.

I also went for my glucose test yesterday which turned into a 2 hr long test by the time they registered me and got around to seeing me. Its done at the hospitals lab and their were plenty of people in front of me. I just hope I don't hafta go for the 3hr because sitting there for 2 hours was painful especially with Mike because he becomes very inpatient at these things. Honey, next time you can stay home! :-)

Last night we worked on putting up the murals in the nursery. I have to give credit where credit is due....it was Mike's idea and he found a lady on ebay who does them. She took about 2-3 weeks to get them to us but was well worth the $90 we paid. I must say that when I first saw these murals online, I was not thrilled about Mike's idea. Now that we have them in hand I think they are adorable!! Trudy did a fantastic job. We didn't get the last mural up yet. It is a 4 foot tree and yes we paid $90 for all 5 of them. We're not putting it up just yet until Mike gets his other project done which I'm not allowed to disclose at this time. Hopefully by next weekend he will get this project started since all of his materials are in and I have one more project myself to do. YAY! If you're interested in checking out other of Trudy's murals: trudyp03. Here are the pictures.

The only other new thing is I scheduled my Belly pictures with a local photographer, Scott Church that I've been going to for 3 years now. He did our engagement pictures and boudoir pictures. He's great and I just love him to death. So I have these set up for March 31st. I'll be just shy of 31 weeks. He said he recommends doing them while I'm not "too big, and too uncomfortable" which makes sense.
