34 weeks and counting....

"Your baby continues to grow and develop inside of you. Measuring over 17 inches long, he now weighs over 5lbs! And from this week, until 2 weeks before birth, he will continue to gain about a half pound of weight every week. Unlike the first trimester, the weight between all babies in the third trimester is much more variable. Some babies weigh more and are taller, some babies weigh less and are shorter.

Also unlike the first trimester, by week 34 not much is changing. Your baby continues gaining weight through the development of subcutaneous fat and with that weight, is probably gaining strength in his movements. You may even be startled by a sudden jab to the ribs or be able to see a punch to your belly from the outside!"

I'll be honest. I've wished for the Dr. to put me on bed rest this week. I'm so physically, emotionally, and mentally tired its ridiculous. Working 40 hours a week, cleaning, doing laundry, preparing for a baby (nesting), pubic bone pain has me so worn out. I just want to stay in bed some days. However, I wake up with all kinds of aches and pains in the middle of the night....but just to be able to relax and not do anything would be freakin fantastic. Can you tell I'm tired of being pregnant? I just want my body back.

So I had my OB appt Thursday. Everything of course is great, besides some minor swelling in my ankles. I'm up 32 pounds, baby's HR was in the 150's, uterus measuring 34 cm, and baby remains head down. (Now I just wish that he would drop so things would get rolling.) I go back in another 2 weeks at 36 weeks and hopefully the mid-wife will give me some tips.

Incase anyone is interested I did get a maternity belt which seems to help some of my pubic bone pain. I ordered it from www.tummywear.com after doing a lot of research it is called "Best Prenatal Cradle". I would also recommend buying the mini cradle as well because you can't wear the Best Prenatal Cradle under everything due to the suspenders. But for now I'm just sucking it up and next pregnancy I'll buy the mini cradle. I think that its pretty comfortable but than again I may not have a problem with it due to all the dance costumes I wore growing up. It was just something I got use to.

So Friday I came home an hour early because all day I was not feeling good. I had an upset stomach and by the end of the day felt like I was going to puke. So I came home to find that our weim, Jake had busted through our bedroom window. We live in a ranch, btw. I have no idea what, when, how or why this happened. My best guess is he saw an animal in the back yard, lunged at the window and either a) went through the entire window (double panes & screen), ending up in the back yard and having to jump back in (I think that would explain why some of the glass was inside) or b) just lunged at the window and it broke. He had a nice gash about 1/3of the way up his right leg so I ended up rushing him to the vet before they closed at 5:30. He has about 8 staples and a nice cone around his neck. I will try and post a pic later, I hafta figure out how to download pics off my phone. He's already back to his normal self. We've kept it bandaged because he already broke his cone and I had to fix it with mailing tape.

Anyways...thats our excitement for the week. Now I'm gonna go work in the yard a little and later today work is throwing me a baby shower. YAY!

Surprise!!

Let's start out whats going on with Baby T this week...he's the size of a honeydew this month.

From the bump...."Baby’s senses are continuing to improve -- when light peeks in through your (extremely) stretched belly, those tiny eyelids and irises blink and dilate. And, baby can now recognize and react to simple songs… time to start practicing your lullabies! Growth (at least inside your womb) is starting to slow, and you may notice baby descend into your pelvis at the end of this month."

From planning family, "Your baby continues to grow and develop inside of you. Measuring 17 inches long, she weighs 5lbs. And from this week, until 2 weeks before birth, she will gain about a half pound of weight every week.
The bones in her skull are formed, but aren't fused. They actually don't fuse entirely until early adulthood, allowing room for her brain to grow through childhood. Because they aren't fused, the bones in her skull will be able to overlap, helping her to fit through the birth canal during delivery."

Lets start with the pictures I said I would show you last post. Here is what the nursery looks like with the nightstand, slip cover and the toy box.

So for me this week so far I've determined I'm ready for a desk job or better yet a job at home in my pj's for the next few weeks. I'm just plain beat by the end of the day and by Thursday and Friday I just want to be put out of my misery. I've also decided I should make a button that says these few things on it "I"m due June 5th and I have X weeks to go. Also please do not comment on how big I look or the baby looks. Have any advice? Well keep it to yourself or I might just loose my cool!!"

The biggest thing that happened this week was my baby shower that my family and friends threw for me. It was a HUGE surprise!! Mike and I went out to run errands yesterday and I came home to a house full! It was very exciting! It was funny I would have never even guessed even after all the cleaning and yard work Mike did this week. Now I know why. So I walked up to the front door, with Mike behind me and saw all the food sitting on the table. I was an idiot and took our curtains down and washed them early in the morning because our plan was to fix the bay window up because Jake believes he is a cat and jumps up there and has scratched the hell outta it. So we went to Lowes to buy carpet to tape down. I'm kinda glad I took the curtains down cuz it gave me a minute to prepare myself. I was still very overwhelmed!

I had a lot of fun and am thankful to have such great people in my life. The party started out with everyone eating and then playing games. Lindsay (one of my best friends) organized all the games and we did baby scramble which was hard. Then she came up with one match the celebs to their childs names. I gave up on that one since I only knew Suri. haha And the last game was so creative. She had a basket covered in burp clothes, and filled the basket with 10 items and put another burp cloth over the basket and you had to feel all the items in about 20 seconds and write them down by memory. It was a lot of fun.

After that I opened up presents and we got so much! We have enough clothes I think to dress twin boys. haha I should have took pics of the pile of wash I have to do. But I got a lot of stuff off of my registry which is really appreciated. After that we had cake. Like I said it was so much fun and great to see most of my family and friends.

Never ending fun....at 32 weeks

"Your baby continues to grow and develop inside of you. Measuring 16.5 inches long, he now weights over 4 pounds! And from this week, until 2 weeks before birth, he will gain about a half pound every week.

He is sleeping approximately 90 to 95 percent of the day. Most of his wrinkles are disappearing, especially on his face, as more fat is deposited under his skin. His hair is becoming thicker with each passing week and you may even be able to see it on an ultrasound! He will also begin to settle in the head-down position, as his birth is fast approaching."

All I hafta say is this baby is not sleeping 90-95% of the day unless he is punching and kicking and moving while he is asleep.

So this has been a long, frustrating end of the week. I'll start from the top...Thursday I had my first 2 weeker appt. I saw the CNP, Nicole. I'm up almost 30lbs and she said I look great and haven't gained that much weight (umm ok). Baby T's hb was in the 140's, his head is down, and my uterus is measuring right on time. I think they'll soon send me for my last u/s. WOO HOO! I can't wait. We discussed my pubic bone pain that I've been having. She suggested a maternity belt for the next few weeks and she warned me of the possibility that the ligament that connects the pubic bones is stretching and that in some women it can actually damage the ligament. GREAT! So...I'm to monitor the pain and if it becomes more and more consistent I will be going on a modified schedule. Oh boy! So other than that the appt went well.

I'm at work later that afternoon and realize I am once again soaking through my panty liner onto my undies. No I'm not talking my normal discharge. I'm talking about a clear watery discharge soaking onto my undies. I went through this 2 weeks ago when using monistat and we (CNP, Nicole and I) contributed it to the monistat when the strip test for amniotic fluid was negative. So I immediately call my Ob's office at 1:30 and explain the history to the secretary and ask for Nicole to personally call me back. I get a call back at 2, from Nicole's nurse asking what prescription I needed refilled. I wanted to lose my cool but for the second time explained the situation to her. She was like "oohh well I need to talk to Nicole about this and get back to you." NO SHIT SHERLOCK, ya think? So 2 hours later, around 3:50 she calls me back and asks me more questions and she's like "Ok well you definitely need to talk to Nicole, so I'm gonna put you on hold, she is in with a patient and will be right out." 5 minutes later I get disconnected. So I call the office back and guess what I get the damn answering service. I was ready to scream, I told the lady "I was just on hold at the office, waiting to speak to Nicole about a problem I am having." She said "well they must have shut their phones off and there is nothing I can do. Is this an emergency?" I said "well I think my water might be leaking." So she takes my info after saying "well thats definitely an emergency" and calls the on call dr.

Maybe 5 minutes later I get a call from the answering service saying "Dr. B wants you to go directly to L&D and get checked out." Let me remind you Dr. B has no idea this has happened before. I was trying to avoid a trip to L&D but after the incompetent office staff did not call me back in a timely fashion I knew this would happen. So I rush out of work to L&D, about 10 minutes away. In the meantime I get a call from my mid-wife who is on call at the hospital but not there. For the 3rd time I explain the story (from the top...2 weeks ago). She than proceeds to say "well Jess [talking to me like I'm a little kid], there is no way its your water breaking, it would have a pinkish color and possibly some white stuff called" something I can't remember. I interrupted her and said "I don't think its breaking, I think its LEAKING." To me there is a big difference. But she continues on that if it was that it would be running down my leg and blah blah blah. Meantime, I'm thinking ok so why did Nicole, not tell me 2 weeks ago this was normal? She wasn't even 100% sure that it wasn't my water. She then has the nerve to tell me that she would have preferred I called during office hours. If I could have I would have reached through the phone and slapped her, I was so frustrated at this point. I said "Carol, I called your office at 1:30, as soon as this happened. At 2, I heard back from a nurse who didn't get the correct message and she didn't call me back till almost 4 and then I was disconnected after 5 minutes of holding." She immediately apologized. And I told her Dr. B told me to go directly to L&D and I'm almost there. So she agreed to have it checked out and said she would be in touch with the nurses.

By the time I arrived and parked in the parking garage to meet Mike, I was crying. Not that I was all that concerned about my water, because I knew there was very little I could do about it. I was crying because I was so frustrated and pissed that I was treated like an idiot by my mid-wife, who I met once and really really liked. May I remind you, Mike knows the mid-wife and both OB's I deal with and thats why we chose to see them when I became pregnant for the 4th time. I hated running out of work for possibly nothing and I hated that L&D could have been avoided since I called earlier that day. So...I promise to shorten the story from here. At L&D they hooked me up to a fetal monitor for 30 minutes while yet again I explained the situation to a nurse (4th time). After getting my registration info and vital signs, they left me rest for a little. Then they came back with a pair of fancy undies (sarcasm) and a pad (that had no sticky on the back to hold in place) and told me to walk the halls for 30 minutes. Not fun!! So after they tested that pad, which was negative, they sent me home. Pretty much told me that a watery discharge was normal for some women. I just get to be one of those lucky women. :::Shrugs & lets out a deep sigh:::

Friday night from 6-9 and Saturday from 9-4, Mike and I had our baby classes. I was really impressed. Mike not so much since he learned all about this in school. Don't get me wrong a lot of the material covered I knew but it was a good review and I learned a lot of new stuff. Also up until this point I was very concerned whether Mike would be able to "handle me" during labor. But he did excellent during the techniques and knows what I like so I'm now confident in his abilities.

If I haven't shared yet Mike and I watched Twilight 2 weeks ago. And I LOVED LOVED LOVED the movie. I bought the book that Monday afternoon and read it within a week. I was one of those who ignored all the hype about it and was like whatever, it probably isn't that good. Boy was I wrong. I started the 2nd book Friday night and I'm thru 100 pages at this point. I can see why fans were disappointed in the movie because it changed things up a lot BUT if you haven't read the book, the movie is definitely worth seeing!!! I'm in luv with Robert Pattinson's character!! He's great!! Mike's description of the movie "Titanic with vampires"....rolling my eyes.

We finally got our night stand from BRU and our slip cover for our glider so I will hafta post new pics soon of the nursery. Now I'm just waiting for my shower so I can get things all set and organized in the drawers and closet. OH! BTW, my MIL & FIL gave us our shower gift....we got our stroller---Graco MetroLite Travel System - Utopia....its perfect. Both Mike and I love it and can't wait to use it!!

Also our niece and nephew got Landon a toy box that matches the room decor! Too cute! I also purchased (off of ebay) a movement monitor. So hopefully that will come this week.

So I think thats all that has been going on with us. Trust me its been enough!!! I hope everyone has a Happy Easter and btw, I typed this damn post twice. At the end of the last post, our internet connection was lost and so was this whole thing. Word of the week....FRUSTRATING!

31 Weeks.....9 more to go....

"Your baby continues to grow and develop inside of you. Measuring 16inches long, she weighs 4 lbs. 4 whole pounds, wow! And from this week, until 2 weeks before birth, she will gain about a half pound every week.

As you've probably noticed, she is moving around quite a bit in there! It's not uncommon for her continuous movements, which may feel like somersaults, to be keeping you up at night. Her arms, legs and body are also filling out as she continues to develop fat underneath her skin, making those kicks and prods feel even stronger than last week. You may even see an arm or a foot move slowly across your belly!"

So thats what is going on with Baby Landon. As you all saw I had my belly pics done and was a little disappointed. I love my photographer, don't get me wrong, but I wish he would have done more poses in our clothes! LOL. (Mary mom when you read this...I love you! hahaha) I just thought I would have more to display. I did some in my bra and undies and than two that I absolutely love, topless. They are very pretty (& pregnant). Tastefully done, not trashy at all. I love my big pregnant belly in them. I wasn't really thinking at the time (pregnancy brain) and honestly didn't bring too many outfits but I guess I should have spoken up that I wanted more poses. Oh well....I can't wait till he gets here now cuz Scott will be coming to the house to take pics of the 3 of us. Which we want a BIG one for above our bed. Finally I'll have a picture above my bed, there hasn't been one there in the past 4 years that I lived in this house. haha

Other than that Landon is a very active boy and makes me laugh a lot with his moves that seem constant sometimes. I love it and will miss it so much. He also makes me grimace when I get a jab in the rib or side. This week I've also been feeling some...and sometimes a lot of pressure down by my pubic bone. Very uncomfortable!

I definitely haven't had a great week and am becoming pretty uncomfortable at times. It hurts to stand because my feet hurt, it hurts to sit cuz my ass goes numb and I become stiff, it hurts to lay down on my side too long because my hips kill me. I'm not complaining, honest, just keeping it real. I would take this over the all day nausea I had for 4 months. So I think I'm headed down the path that I just wanna speed things up. I'm terrified of giving birth, in fact I think I'm in denial some days.

Also everyone is making me mad, because everyone knows when my shower is but me. I have suspicions. I thought possibly this Saturday, because my mom, my aunt and I are going to Philly to visit my cousin and it sounds like a good plan...but today I think we are really going to Philly. Also my BF called to make plans for the end of the month, so I'm wondering if its then. And Mike keeps saying its not till May....I don't believe him though! I made it very clear to my mother that I did NOT want this last minute because what if I go on bed rest or have him early?? I want to be prepared. I should have planned the damn thing myself. LOL. Sorry can you tell I'm an only child and this has been a long week?? Now I'm complaining...
