Here is what the bump has to say about 30 weeks........A"s baby's skin smoothes out, her brain just keeps getting more wrinkled. All those grooves and indentations increase surface area, meaning more room for that oh-so-essential brain tissue. She's also adding some brawn -- her grip is now strong enough to grasp a finger.
Baby’s energy is surging, thanks to the formation of white fat deposits beneath the skin. (Have those kicks and jabs to the ribs tipped you off yet?) Baby is also settling into sleep and waking cycles, though -- as you’ve also probably noticed -- they don’t necessarily coincide with your own. Also this month, all five senses are finally functional, and the brain and nervous system are going through major developments."
Planning family has this to say....."Your baby continues to grow and develop inside of you. Measuring 15.7 inches long, she weighs 3 lbs. She now almost fills up your entire uterine cavity and her arms and legs have grown much plumper, thanks to the continued growth of subcutaneous fat.
By 30 weeks, her eyelids open and close. She'll keep her eyes closed for most of the day though. When her eyes are open, she will be able to track light inside of your womb, though her vision isn't "perfect" or 20/20. Lunago, or fine hair that once covered her body, will start falling off this week."
So 30 weeks brought me some uneeded excitement, on Mike's birthday, Friday. I was scared to death my water was slowly leaking. Here's the scoop. After being sick with bronchitis and being treated with antibiotics I got a lovely yeast infection. So I started treating it with a 3 day monistat. Started it Wed night. Got my normal during the day creamy, monistant discharge, Thursday. But thats not all I got...I don't know if I had so much of a discharge that my panty liner couldn't absorb it all but my underwear ended up getting soaked, not with a creamy discharge. It looked as if I peed myself (though I know I didn't....been there done that with all the coughing I've had). So I called Mike around 4, since he was home and had him rush me fresh undies and got his opinion. He said "see if it happens again". So Friday I go to work and this time by 9 AM my undies looked soaked so I called the OB and they told me to come in asap. So I rush out of work explaining to my boss that I was concerned my water was breaking but of course I couldn't tell HIM why. So I just left it at that.
So lucky me, they do an internal exam...(Oh Yay! NOT!!) and test my underwear for amniotic fluid. The test strip was negative but the CRNP that I saw said she wasn't 100% certain it wasn't my water leaking. She said I'm about 90% sure its not but it could very well be. She left me go after talking to the OB and told me just to monitor it and if anything changed I was to call right away. She also told me I did the right thing coming in and defintely saw what I saw. I've never had this problem when using monistat before. Oh well....So far I haven't had it since.
